Brisbane Lifeline Bookfest 2016

Quick Overview:

The Lifeline Bookfest is the largest second hand book sale in Queensland. It is being held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition centre and will be kicking off on the 25th of June until the 3rd of July. 

What Is It? 

Kicking off on the 25th of June at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Lifeline Bookfest is the largest second hand book sale in Queensland. The bookfest is the biggest fundraising event for the 24 hour crisis support line, Lifeline.
 
Lifeline is a life-saving service that offers suicide prevention and bereavement support over the phone as well as family and crisis support – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on 13 11 14. 
 
Whether you are a book collector, a casual reader, a student or just someone that loves books, the Lifeline Bookfest is for you. Featuring 4km of tables with millions of books, puzzles, magazines, DVD’s, vinyl, board games and much, much more for prices as low as a dollar, you’ll be sure to find a good deal! 
 
 
If you would like to donate books to the book fair you can do so by placing them into Lifeline bins or by heading to your local Lifeline store. There will also be crates at the event next to the entrance for customers to donate books. 

When Is It? 

The Lifeline Bookfest will be kicking off on Saturday 25th of June, and finishes on the 3rd of July. 
 
The bookfest will be open between 8:30AM – 7:00PM on weekends, and from 9:00AM – 5:30PM on weekdays. 

How Do I Get There?

The Lifeline Bookfest is being held in Halls 3 and 4 of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, located at Merivale St & Glenelg Street, South Brisbane. We recommend trying to get there early and park at the centre if you plan on buying lots of books!

What Should I Bring? 

We recommend taking along plenty of bags – with prices as low as a dollar for many of the books, you may end up taking home more than you expected! The Bookfest will also be hiring out trolleys at the event for $2.
